SGS Hub came into being in September 2022. Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve been up to since then.
Colleagues for many years, Susie and Graham join forces and start up on their own. SGS Hub is born.
We win our first two clients, road and rail building projects. Susie and Graham spend a lot of time (and money) on East Midlands Railway travelling to London.
SGS outgrows Susie’s spare room and moves into its first ever office, at Canal House in Loughborough.
With a growing client base, we welcome our first team member, Steve, to take responsibility for our proposals and submissions.
Another big milestone - we get our first client through our website. Hurrah!
Our second team member, Callum, joins us as an Estimator, with his extensive experience in civil engineering to bolster our business even further.
We’re on the move again, from our co-working office to our new office in Cossington.
We work with a client to help them secure 3 Lots on a big Framework they specifically employed us for. Happy days!
We are appointed to support an impressive Tier 1 joint venture on a top-secret MOD project. It’s big. It’s complex. But it’s totally amazing. It will make our country safer for future generations!
We need to grow the team to meet demand. Recruitment is well underway, and we are interviewing.
We are excited to offer Emma a role as Bid Writer. What a great addition to the team!
Even with our new team members, we are all stacked out working on multiple tenders for clients up and down the country.
It is a busy month – we have submissions on 2nd, 10th, 17th and 31st totalling over £210million for our clients. And there’s two bank holidays!
An even busier month! We’re on the move again (yay) to Unit 14 (still in Cossington), a bigger office with our own meeting room and project space. We appoint Casha as Social Media Co-Ordinator and Gill as Business Administrator. And we win our 1st award (!!) as we’re crowned Best New Business in Leicestershire at the Niche Business Awards 2024.
The numbers say it all
Since September 2022
On the proposals side of the business (the written word), we’ve worked on over 25 bids with a total scheme value of over £250 million. This doesn’t include one tender for a scheme worth over a billion ££ and several multi-year framework tenders!!
Demonstrating our flexibility, these tenders have been for both public and private sector clients across a diverse range of industry sectors including highways, rail, water, tunnelling, energy, nuclear and town centre regeneration.
If that wasn’t busy enough, we have successfully dipped our toe into facilitating conferences for local government transport authorities.
The estimating team have been just as busy working on rail, energy, defence and civil engineering projects for Tier 1, Tier 2 and smaller groundworks contractors. These schemes tot up to a staggering £1.2bn+.
